Are you tracking your ad success—or just guessing?

A new client recently shared her biggest marketing frustration with me:

“It doesn’t seem like we ever know if our advertising is working. The only way to find out seems to be to stop advertising completely—and that scares me even more.”

I’ve been in her shoes, and I get it. You invest in marketing, but no one sits down with you to show exactly how to measure success.

The legendary Peter Drucker once said:

“You can't manage what you don't measure.”

His point being, if you're not measuring and tracking your progress, what you're doing isn't much better than guessing. When it comes to advertising, guessing isn’t an option.

With today’s costs, you need real data to determine if your investment is driving results.

How to Track Your Marketing Success (A Simple Checklist)

Before you even look at ad performance, you need a baseline of where you are today. Then, track these key areas:

✅ Website Traffic – At least weekly, check your current unique visitors in your website dashboard or in Google Analytics. This allows you to know know many new users are coming from your campaigns?

✅ Phone Calls – How many inbound calls does your business receive daily? Track call volume changes when a campaign runs.

✅ Foot Traffic (If You Have a Storefront) – How many people walk through your doors each day? Are there spikes during promotions?

✅ Lead Handling & Follow-Ups – Review your follow-up processes in depth. Are inquiries from your website, calls, and walk-ins being handled effectively?

The key? Measure daily, especially during a campaign, and set specific improvement goals.

What’s Next?

Once you have these numbers, you can stop guessing and start optimizing. I help business owners break down these metrics into clear, trackable marketing success indicators.

🔁 Hit reply and let me know—what’s your biggest challenge in tracking your marketing results? I’d love to offer a few quick tips.

P.S. Many business owners don’t realize how small tweaks in tracking can lead to big improvements in their marketing results. Let’s make sure your ads are working as hard as you are!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Expect to Win,
